Okay, I must admit that I am a bit perplexed. I’ve been searching through the relevant blogs within my niche, and I can’t believe what I’m seeing. If you don’t already know, this blog is about content marketing and strategy. And, one way you connect with other bloggers in your niche is by commenting on other relevant posts that are written by other bloggers.
I spend a little time each and every day looking for these other blogs so I can make friends in the community. I am baffled to see that about half of these other blogs had no other type of media whatsoever. Not even a simple picture!
They either know something that I don’t, or they are sadly mistaken and wasting precious time. I’m pretty sure that you know the answer.
I’m sure you’ve heard the old adage: you can’t please everybody.
It’s true you can’t please everyone. But you sure can try! Listen, each of my posts starts with a paragraph and a picture. I’m also working on something else that is completely visual in addition to my regular posts. Here’s the deal, most people don’t like to read.
Sure, you may like to read–but most pepole do not. And, the younger generations need to be entertained. It is hard to entertain with words amongst that generation. They don’t read enough.
So you have to grab their attention some other way. You have to use other types of media. Just because you like to write, doesn’t mean that everyone wants to read what you write. Catch my drift here? Use pictures, videos and whatever else you can throw at your info consumers. Otherwise, you’ll lose them to someone who is willing to entertain.
Think about it like this: You aren’t your customer, someone else is. Do you want to give them what you want, or do you want to give them what they want? Think about it.
Really, that is step two of building a blog. You have to know what they want and figure out how to give it to them. I already know what you want. Which, if I’m not mistaken, is to drive more traffic to your site. I know how to help you with that, so here I am.
